Winter 2024 PALS Recreation Leader

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Recreation Leader to join our PALS Division team in Maui County. As a Recreation Leader, you will be responsible for inspiring confidence and enthusiasm in recreation aides, interacting with them to encourage program participation, and building a working environment that fosters growth and learning.

• Lead recreation programs for children, promoting a safe and inclusive environment
• Develop and implement program plans, ensuring alignment with departmental goals and objectives
• Collaborate with recreation aides to build a positive and supportive team culture
• Provide guidance and support to recreation aides, helping them to develop their skills and confidence
• Perform other related duties as required

• College student with a major in education or recreation, or equivalent combination of training and experience in youth programming and/or organizing and leading groups of children in recreational activities
• Ability to work with children and adults in a team environment
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities
