OVERVIEW:
Ursus Inc is seeking a Senior Electrical Design Validation Engineer to contribute to the design, construction, and testing of prototype electrical systems and validation frameworks for upcoming consumer VR and AR technologies. The ideal candidate will possess a diverse skill set, including embedded design, analog/mixed signal design, power systems, and wearable technology.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Spearhead validation and performance assessment by formulating and implementing detailed test plans throughout all project phases.
  • Collaborate closely with design teams to ensure coherence between validation and characterization strategies.
  • Establish priorities and a comprehensive validation execution roadmap.
  • Assess power regulation circuits (SMPS, LDO, power gates), signal integrity, power integrity, protocol compliance, audio, sensors, and ecosystem interoperability.
  • Provide expert analysis and corrective action support to address any issues identified.
  • Monitor validation progress, present findings, draft technical documents, and represent project status during design evaluations.
  • Communicate updates to all stakeholders and ensure resolution of all issues discovered during validation tests across all project phases.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience with a BS/MS in Digital System Design, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in setting up and executing both automated and manual testing systems, including designing experiments or DOE.
  • Proficient in precision testing (RF, Analog, small-signal, etc.).
  • Strong troubleshooting skills related to design and instrumentation effects on measurements.
  • Familiarity with schematic and board design using tools such as Cadence Orcad, Altium, or similar.
  • Proficient in using standard electrical engineering instruments like oscilloscopes, high-speed digital test equipment, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers, and function generators.
  • Technical expertise in at least two consumer electronics domains, including power electronics, signal integrity, battery management, RF, audio, or sensor systems.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Knowledge of VR/AR systems or low-power wearable electronic devices.
  • Programming experience in languages such as Python, Java, C#, C++, or C, with capabilities in system initialization, debugging, and test script creation.
  • Experience in defining and coordinating testing procedures in laboratory and manufacturing environments to support system initialization and evaluation.
  • Ability to independently design full system prototypes.
  • Experience validating high-speed buses (USB, HDMI, PCIe, MIPI, etc.).
  • Understanding of hardware system coexistence and interoperability testing.
