  • Role Expectations
    • The Electrical Engineer will conduct comprehensive research and analysis of international systems to assist US Navy initiatives in weapon design, countermeasures, and tactical validation.
  • Core Duties
    • Support the evaluation and testing of electronic systems, encompassing digital, analog, RF, microcontroller, DSP, digital forensics, and various sensor technologies.
    • Execute data extractions utilizing both intrusive and non-intrusive techniques across a diverse range of components.
    • Conduct forensically sound extractions and evaluations of digital media employing commercial tools and software.
    • Perform RF measurements utilizing an array of equipment and methodologies.
    • Assist in X-Ray and Computed Tomography (CT) scans of various components.
    • Reverse engineer complex multilayer PCBs to facilitate schematic development.
    • Contribute to the creation of intelligence products by delivering objective technical insights in a clear manner for non-technical stakeholders.
    • Develop schematics, block diagrams, and wiring diagrams; research commercial electronic components; analyze circuit designs and operations; document findings through photography.
    • Operate, maintain, and calibrate various laboratory instruments.
    • Engage in training sessions related to laboratory capabilities.
    • Willingness to travel as necessary to support laboratory initiatives.
Qualifications
  • Educational Background
    • Associates Degree preferred or a High School Diploma with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Professional Experience
    • At least 3 years of experience in Electrical Engineering with a solid understanding of general electronics and laboratory analysis of RF systems.
    • Proficiency in software and/or hardware reverse engineering.
    • Experience with firmware and software.
    • Recent expertise with Ghidra.
    • Ability to generate schematics using tools such as Altium, OrCAD, EAGLE, KiCAD, or Diptrace.
    • Experience in circuit simulation and measurement using PSpice, LabVIEW, or similar software.
    • Skills in micro-miniature soldering.
    • Demonstrated understanding of reverse engineering processes.
    • Effective communication skills in writing and speaking.
  • Preferred Skills
    • Programming languages: C/C++, Python, PHP.
    • Software disassembly expertise: IDA Pro.
    • Familiarity with AVR and ARM architectures.
    • Knowledge of software-defined radios (SDRs) and debugging tools.
    • Experience in digital forensics using tools like EnCASE, FTK, or Autopsy.
    • Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks or NX.
    • CompTIA certifications: A+, Network+, Security+.
    • Familiarity with laboratory equipment including Logic Analyzers and Oscilloscopes.
    • Security Clearance may be required.
  • Security Requirements
    • Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility may be necessary, including a CI polygraph for access to specific IT systems.
