About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Structural Engineer to join our Rail & Transit Group in Boston, MA. As a key member of our team, you will lead the design of complex fixed bridges, movable bridges, and perform bridge inspections.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop detailed plans and construction documents for bridge projects
  • Perform structural design calculations and analysis to ensure safety and efficiency
  • Develop technical specifications and contract bid documents for bridge construction
  • Prepare technical reports to document bridge design and construction progress
  • Lead site visits for condition inspections and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality bridge design solutions
  • Mentor and train junior staff to develop their skills and expertise
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License required, with Massachusetts license preferred
  • Minimum of eight years of experience in structural engineering, with a focus on bridge design and rail experience
  • Experience in conceptual, preliminary, and final design of structural projects, including bridge design
  • Proficiency in current Finite Element Method (FEM) modeling software
  • Local rail client base experience, including MBTA and Amtrak
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
