We are seeking a **Lead Software Engineering Manager** who will shape and execute our engineering strategy. As the leader, you will oversee our global engineering team and work closely with our executive team to align engineering initiatives with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute the engineering strategy in alignment with BookedBy's overall goals.
  • Responsible for the software's reliability, availability, performance, quality, and security.
  • Provide visionary leadership to drive technology innovation and efficiency.
  • Lead and mentor a team of engineering leaders, providing strategic guidance and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of current technology trends and best practices.
  • Work with Software Development Managers to set engineering standards, KPIs, and software development processes.
  • Enforce adherence to established processes, including the secure software development lifecycle.
  • Develop department goals, drive the technical and infrastructure roadmap for the engineering team.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Supervise the software development process, setting short-term objectives while meeting long-term company goals.
  • Act as a key stakeholder in shaping the product roadmap.
  • Manage engineering resources, including budgeting and talent acquisition. Ensure that the team is equipped with the necessary tools and technologies to succeed.
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to technology and development. Develop contingency plans to address potential challenges.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in software development and architecture.
  • 5+ years of team management.
  • Proven track record of successful leadership in engineering roles, preferably in a startup or high-growth environment.
  • Experience managing international software development teams.
  • Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills. Ability to inspire and motivate a team, drive change, and manage complex projects.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong technical background in software development methodologies, architecture, and design and development of customer-oriented platforms.
  • Previous experience with Cloud software, preferably AWS.
  • Willingness to roll up your sleeves, collaborate with others, and get stuff done
  • Ability to hold others accountable.
  • Strong project planning, time management, and collaboration skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic plans. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
