SHIFT: Nights (6:45pm - 6:45am)
POSITION SUMMARY:
The role of the nurse is vital in providing care for individuals who are unwell, recovering, or have disabilities. Under general supervision, nurses deliver patient care through the nursing process, which includes assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation, in alignment with established standards. They work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure effective patient care and the achievement of optimal outcomes. Nurses maintain professional standards while interacting with patients and their families.
The House Supervisor serves as the Administrator for all hospital departments during off-hours. This role involves coordinating interdepartmental activities among hospital staff while interpreting hospital standards. The House Supervisor acts as an extension of on-site administration and serves as a liaison between departments, hospital administration, and personnel. This position reports directly to the Chief Nursing Officer.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides administrative and clinical support to Department Directors and assumes responsibilities in their absence.
- Assists in the planning, organization, direction, coordination, and management of facility activities.
- Supports the Department Director/Clinical Lead in staff performance and departmental responsibilities, ensuring compliance with corporate, hospital, and safety policies.
- Acts as a liaison for patients, their representatives, physicians, and staff.
- Ensures efficient operations and optimal resource utilization to enhance productivity and reduce costs during shifts.
- Serves as an administrative resource across all hospital departments in the absence of administrators and department managers.
- Supervises nursing care delivery both clinically and administratively.
- Actively participates in patient placement processes.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Completes required orientation as directed by the facility.
- Adheres to facility and OSHA safety protocols while on duty.
- Respects the cultural and religious practices of patients.
- Maintains compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Demonstrates punctuality and reliability for assigned shifts.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- ACLS and PALS certifications required.
- Current nursing license in good standing with the State licensing board.
- Minimum of three (3) years of nursing experience.
- One (1) year of experience in Orthopedics and Spine preferred.
- Possesses cognitive skills relevant to the position.
- Exhibits a top-level customer service attitude and compassion for patients and their families.
