Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Psychometrist to join our team at the Alabama Department of Education. As a Psychometrist, you will play a critical role in supporting the assessment and evaluation of students in our state.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assessment Administration: Select, administer, score, and develop reports for cognitive and social/behavioral assessments.
  • Record Review and Analysis: Review student records and analyze information pertinent to assessments.
  • Scheduling and Coordination: Arrange for prompt testing according to timelines that have been set for assigned tasks.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Communicate and coordinate scheduling with school personnel.
  • Score Interpretation and Reporting: May assist in the interpretation of scores as well as educational implications as part of an established team.
  • Student and Staff Interaction: Establish rapport and work in a constructive, positive manner with staff and students.
  • Technology Proficiency: Proficiently use technology to administer required assessments and develop reports.
  • Effective Communication: Communicate effectively in oral and written form.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as the Director of Special Education may, from time to time, assign or delegate.
Requirements
  • Current Alabama Teacher's Certification, master's degree or higher with an endorsement in psychometry.
