Position Overview

The Customer Relationship Specialist II role is dedicated to providing exceptional customer experiences to both existing and prospective clients. Individuals in this position will demonstrate effective communication abilities and possess advanced knowledge of the products and services available. This role is accountable for identifying referral opportunities that lead to outcomes reflecting outstanding customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Actively seeks opportunities to enhance customer relationships to meet both personal and branch objectives.
  • Confidently drive sales by fostering relationships, delivering excellent service, and showcasing product knowledge. Monitor and track sales and opportunities using customer information software.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of personal products, trusts, Health Savings Accounts (HSAs), Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs), and business products and services.
  • Skilled in non-real estate secured lending.
  • Develop a strong understanding of real estate secured lending.
  • Effectively assess consumer needs through needs-based questioning to build and strengthen customer relationships.
  • Refer clients to our banking partners utilizing skills acquired through internal sales training programs.
  • Meet or surpass personal and team objectives as established.
  • Exhibit strong decision-making capabilities and conduct sales activities with minimal supervision.
  • Engage in onsite visits to clients to promote the Perks at Work Program and Merchant Services.
  • Participate in outbound teleconsulting to enhance and expand existing client relationships.
  • Accurately process customer transactions, ensuring balance and safeguarding against fraud.
  • Engage in community groups or events to create networking opportunities.
  • Participate in bank-sponsored community initiatives.
  • Train and mentor new employees on teller and/or banker systems.
  • Actively engage in weekly meetings and one-on-one coaching sessions.
  • Serve as relief and/or backup Customer Relationship Specialist II in other Midland States Bank locations.
  • Demonstrate and embody Midland States Bank's core values that support the bank's culture.
  • Complete all assigned learning activities in a timely manner.
  • This role may require occasional travel for training and team meetings, as well as a willingness to travel periodically to various locations as needed.
  • May necessitate working in a Midland office to ensure collaboration and support for internal and external clients.
  • Adhere to all applicable regulations, including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA).
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education/Experience:

  • 1-2 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Demonstrated sales and customer service experience.
  • This position requires registration with the National Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) under the provisions of the S.A.F.E. Act of 2008.


Skills Required:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Capability to lift and transport coin and currency bags as necessary (bags may weigh between 25lbs and 50lbs).
