Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Care: Assist in preparation of patient care, including admission, transfer, and discharge processes; phone in prescriptions; and assist providers with treatment procedures as requested.
  • Medical Procedures: Perform routine non-invasive treatment procedures, such as saturation, administration, and urine dipsticks; may perform invasive procedures, including phlebotomy, ear irrigation, catheterization, and EKGs.
  • Medication Administration: Administer medication, including Parenteral (IM, SQ, ID), Oral Drops, Eye Drops, and Oral via Seven Rights; document and communicate clinical findings.
  • Data Entry: Enter various data into computer and forms; verify data, make corrections, and ensure accuracy; schedule patient appointments; answer and direct phone calls as requested.
  • Cashiering: Perform basic cashiering duties, collect monies for various activities, and close and balance cash registers.
  • Environmental Maintenance: Maintain a sanitary work area, including patient care rooms, equipment, and instruments; report equipment problems; order and stock supplies; and maintain appropriate PAR levels.
  • Customer Service: Provide and ensure quality service and customer satisfaction.
Requirements
  • Education: High School or GED Equivalent; Program Graduate; Course Education specialization: MA accred pgm graduate or 2 yrs MA experience on DD Form 214; UNMH MA Safe Med Admin Course Completion w/in 90 Days.
  • Experience: No minimum experience required; 1 year directly related experience.
  • Credentials: CPR for Healthcare/BLS Prov or Prof Rescuers w/in 30 days.
