Job Summary:

Volt is seeking a skilled Metallurgical Technician to join our team in Mossville, IL. As a Metallurgical Technician, you will play a crucial role in analyzing parts and materials for conformance to established criteria, supporting high-velocity manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Rate and take images of ferrous and non-ferrous microstructures in accordance with ASTM standards.
  • Work with a team to analyze parts and materials, ensuring conformance to established criteria.
  • Utilize expertise in ferrous microstructures, micro sample preparation, hardness testing, and digital metallographic imaging.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of ferrous microstructures produced by various heat treat processes.
  • Experience in micro sample preparation, hardness testing, and utilization of an inverted microscope (Up to 1000X).
  • Computer skills, including basic PC skills, experience in MS Word / Excel, and digital metallographic imaging.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
