Culinary Specialist

Gringos Tex-Mex is seeking a skilled Culinary Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of dishes to the highest standards of quality and presentation.

• Food Preparation: Prepare a range of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables, and other food items using various kitchen equipment, adhering to our recipes and quality standards.
• Inventory Management: Stock and maintain sufficient levels of food products at line stations to ensure a smooth service period.
• Portion Control: Portion out food products before cooking according to standard portion sizes and recipe specifications.
• Cleanliness and Sanitation: Maintain a clean and sanitary work area, including tables, shelves, grills, broilers, fryers, ovens, burners, and refrigeration.
• Plate Presentation: Follow proper plate presentation and garnish setup for all dishes.
• Product Handling: Handle, store, and rotate products properly.
• Closing Procedures: Follow the closing checklist to close the kitchen properly.
• Team Collaboration: Attend all scheduled team member meetings.

• Previous Experience: Previous restaurant experience is not required but preferred.
• Communication Skills: Ability to read and understand simple instructions.
• Writing Skills: Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Presentation Skills: Ability to effectively present information to customers and other team members.
• Math Skills: Ability to add and subtract two and three-digit numbers and perform these operations using units of American money.
• Hygiene and Grooming: Must have exceptional hygiene and grooming habits.
• Certification: Food Handler Certification is required.

• Standing and Walking: Constant standing/walking

• Lifting and Carrying: Occasional pushing, pulling, lifting, or carrying up to 60 pounds
• Ascending and Descending: Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs, ramps

• Wrist and Spine Movement: Frequent, continual, intermittent flexing or rotation of the wrist(s) and spine
• Communication: Constant receiving detailed information through oral communication
• Talking and Expressing: Constant talking, expressing, or exchanging ideas using the spoken word
• Vision: Constant clarity of vision at near and/or far distances
