Job Summary

Kforce's client, a prominent non-profit organization in Washington, DC, is seeking a Tax Director to lead its tax compliance and strategy functions. This role involves ensuring compliance, performing in-depth research, and providing strategic support for various tax-related matters.

Key Responsibilities
  • Reporting and Compliance: Draft reports, memos, and disclosures for management and board members, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting and tax compliance.
  • Tax Research and Analysis: Conduct research and provide analysis on a wide range of tax issues, including business operations and reporting related to investments.
  • Tax Return Preparation: Lead and coordinate the preparation, review, and filing of tax returns and regulatory reports at federal, state, and local levels.
  • Collaboration and Project Management: Collaborate with internal teams and external advisors to manage tax-related projects and resolve complex tax issues.
  • Special Projects and Additional Duties: Oversee special tax-related projects and perform additional duties as needed.
Requirements
  • Education and Certification: BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, or Business-related degree, and CPA certification required.
  • Experience: 10+ years of progressive tax experience, with proven experience managing federal, state, and local tax returns and compliance.
  • Skills: Strong research, analytical, and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and external advisors.
