Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Trailer Technician to join our team at Dayton Freight. As a Trailer Technician, you will be responsible for performing maintenance services on our fleet of trailers, ensuring they are in good working condition and meet our high standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance on trailers, including inspections, repairs, and replacements of components.
  • Diagnose and repair issues with trailer systems, including suspension, running gear, brakes, and electrical systems.
  • Weld and fabricate metal components as needed.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance inspections to identify potential issues before they become major problems.
  • Assist with service calls and road tests vehicles to ensure quality repair services were performed.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment that complies with OSHA and company standards.
  • Work with the Parts Department to ensure that all necessary materials and parts are available.
  • Perform other maintenance duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Basic math skills
  • Fluent in English
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Able to pass a drug screen
