Position: Special Assets Manager
The Special Assets Manager at JD Bank is tasked with the oversight of loan collections, including charged-off loans, overdrawn accounts, legal judgments, bankruptcies, and other real estate owned (OREO) properties. This role reports directly to the Attorney-Chief Compliance Officer and is integral in managing the Fi-Serv Collection System, facilitating customer interactions to resolve defaults, collaborating with Bank Counsel, and generating various reports concerning delinquent accounts.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Oversee the Fi-Serv Collection System, including the establishment of queues, correspondence, and reporting mechanisms.
- Support Loan Officers in addressing overdue accounts and modifications.
- Engage with customers to identify solutions for defaults.
- Work in conjunction with Bank Counsel on accounts undergoing litigation and bankruptcy proceedings.
- Prepare tax documentation for 1099A and 1099C forms.
- Conduct inspections of collateral.
- Investigate and settle delinquent real estate tax obligations.
- Facilitate monthly meetings focused on delinquency issues.
- Compile reports on past due accounts, charged-off loans, OREO, and other assets.
- Manage the booking and sale processes for OREO and other assets.
- Ensure compliance with maintenance and insurance requirements for OREO properties.
- Handle invoicing related to legal, OREO, and other asset expenses.
Qualifications:
- A college degree accompanied by three to five years of experience in Special Assets management.
- Proficient computer skills and familiarity with operational systems.
- Comprehensive understanding of standard banking policies and procedures.
Work Schedule:
The work schedule is flexible, typically ranging from early morning to early evening, Monday through Friday, with occasional after-hours commitments required. Regular attendance is essential.
Physical Requirements:
The role necessitates the ability to stand, walk, sit, utilize hands and fingers, reach, communicate, and hear. Occasionally, the position may require climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, or lifting items weighing up to 25 pounds. Specific vision capabilities are also necessary.
