Role Overview: This position integrates strong sales acumen with engineering principles to cultivate new and repeat business within our Vacuum Jacketed Piping (VJP) division. You will manage existing client relationships, positioning OPW for future growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a project manager, guiding customers from initial sale through project completion.
- Handle customer inquiries regarding applications and engineering of cryogenic products, aiming to convert inquiries into sales.
- Review and modify blueprints, drawings, and specifications to align with customer requirements.
- Compile and provide detailed quotations, including pricing matrices and schedules.
- Ensure all necessary documentation, including Bills of Materials (BOM), drawings, and technical manuals, are accurately produced and maintained.
- Coordinate project timelines and steps, including conducting on-site surveys for precise pipe routing measurements.
- Maintain ongoing communication with customers throughout the sales cycle, fostering long-term relationships.
- Provide technical support to clients regarding equipment use, operation, and maintenance.
- Collaborate with various departments to resolve issues and provide effective solutions.
- Document and manage customer and sales data using Excel and Access.
- Complete and maintain all necessary paperwork, including Call Reports and CRM entries.
- Willingness to travel domestically, approximately 50% of the time.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field is preferred.
- A minimum of five years of industrial experience, particularly in designing and laying out piping systems.
- 3-5 years of experience in industrial sales.
- Strong spatial intelligence to visualize 3-D pipe routings into isometric drawings.
- Ability to work in an office or remotely.
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, and Access; AutoCAD experience is a plus.
- Physical capability to navigate job sites, including climbing ladders and accessing tight spaces.
