Job Overview

Rumpke Sanitary Landfill, Inc. is seeking a skilled Surveyor to join our team. As a Surveyor, you will play a critical role in providing technical surveying support at our landfill facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate GPS instruments, program software, and manage hardware to ensure accurate surveying data.
  • Provide training to heavy equipment operators on GPS capabilities and maintain hardware and software installations.
  • Prepare calculations for land surveying applications, including CADD volumes, boundary, and topographic creation.
  • Manage and coordinate 3rd party surveyors to ensure efficient and accurate surveying services.
  • Compile and stake out "as-built" survey data for infrastructure and complete survey and surface reviews.
  • Perform job duties in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and company policies.
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere with a culture of respect for others.
Requirements
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and take responsibility.
  • Ability to maintain compliance by wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) when necessary.
  • Understanding of Trimble GPS applications and familiarity with construction equipment and GPS use.
  • Ability to work away from home district with potential for overnight stays and maintain a good driving record.
Working Conditions
  • Frequently lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling a max of 10lbs.
  • Occasionally lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling a max of 20lbs.
  • Frequently working outside in areas with dust, odors, mist, gases, and other airborne matter.
