This position plays a vital role in providing routine patient care to promote patient comfort and contribute to the overall patient plan of care. As a key member of the nursing team, you will be responsible for on-going patient data collection and documentation in the medical records, ensuring accurate and complete information is available for healthcare professionals.
Responsibilities- Assist patients with activities of daily living, including basic hygiene needs, mobility, and nutritional intake as needed.
- Collect patient specimens and data, including vital signs, input/output, and other delegated measurements, in accordance with unit/facility policy and standards of care.
- Recognize and report abnormalities and/or changes in the patient's health status and responses to treatment to a licensed professional.
- Perform procedures and use equipment as delegated by a licensed professional, consistent with demonstrated competencies and according to state scope of practice.
- Provide necessary supplies, support, and assistance to medical staff and patients for unit-specific procedures, under the direct supervision of a licensed professional.
- Maintain a complete patient record with admission, transfer, and discharge information, progress notes, and consent forms.
- Ensure that all reports and chart forms are scanned or filed into the patient's record.
- Monitor and track the use and whereabouts of electronic equipment, such as patient ID scanners and laptops, ensuring they are accounted for and in working order.
- High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge.
- Current BLS certification.
- Current license in state of practice may be required in certain facilities and/or departments in accordance with regulatory requirements or facility/department policy.
- Requires skills and abilities typically attained with 1 year of medical clerical experience; preferably in a hospital or physician office setting, or prior experience in customer service.
