Early Childhood Educator

Diocese of Phoenix Catholic Schools is seeking a qualified Preschool Aide to join our team.
Job SummaryThe Preschool Aide will work under the supervision of the Preschool Director to achieve the goals of Catholic education. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leadership, working as a member of the preschool team, developing a learning and social environment, evaluating student needs, and assisting in the development and supervision of all areas.
Key Responsibilities- Strives to achieve the goals of Catholic education by promoting Gospel values and Catholic moral teachings.
- Assumes responsibility for the leadership of the classes assigned, demonstrating knowledge and understanding of effective teaching techniques and child development.
- Works as a member of the preschool team, attending staff meetings, attending trainings, participating in parent activities, and maintaining a professional attitude.
- Develops an appropriate learning and social environment, creating a room arrangement most appropriate to the educational objectives and providing for the safety, welfare, and care of the students.
- Evaluates the needs of each student, observing and recording information on child's development, altering learning activities to meet specific needs, and referring students with suspected learning challenges to the Director.
- Assists in the development and supervision of all areas, consulting with the director and staff, providing appropriate materials, and insuring that the area is safe.
- Evaluates and reports student progress, observing and maintaining record of student's progress regularly, reporting students' progress to the director, and conferring with parents as needed.
- Establishes positive school community relationships, maintaining cooperative relations with parents, providing for regular conferences and meetings with parents, cooperating with and helping promote all school programs, and maintaining awareness of his/her role as a Catholic preschool teacher and its impact on the community.
- Continues professional development, remaining current with religious and academic standards, keeping informed of current instructional practices through professional reading and educational opportunities, participating in professional activities and joining appropriate professional organizations, attending school and diocesan sponsored in-services and staff development opportunities, and attending and participating in school faculty meetings and in-services.
- Must meet Ministry Formation Certification as required by Diocesan Policy.
- If Catholic, willing to make a public Profession of Faith.
- Ability to comply with the requirements specified in the Arizona Department of Health Daycare Licensing Regulations.
- Preference given to Catholic teachers.
- Participated in Safe Environment Training and signed the Code of Ethics.
- FBI Fingerprint Clearance completed.
