Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Investigator to join our team. As a Senior Investigator, you will play a critical role in conducting complex, high-profile investigations involving police use of deadly force.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct thorough and objective investigations of use of deadly force incidents, including evidence collection and interviewing witnesses and law enforcement officers.

Communicate effectively with families and community members to ensure transparency and public trust.

Manage and prioritize investigative assignments, ensuring timely completion and adherence to OII policies and procedures.

Protect confidentiality of Criminal Justice Information (CJI) data and maintain the highest level of professionalism and integrity.

Requirements

3+ years of practical experience conducting complex criminal investigations, including crime scene management and evidence collection.

Experience working within Washington state's laws, practices, policies, and procedures related to criminal law and investigations.

Ability to testify in court and/or legal hearings if required, and write detailed, comprehensive incident reports.

Preferred Qualifications

Advanced education, training, or industry certification in criminal justice or a related field.

Experience using open-source investigative techniques, including social media, mapping equipment, video forensics, and other electronic means.
