Position Overview

Job Responsibilities

Key Duties
  • Utilizes x-ray machinery to generate radiographic images of specified body areas as directed by a physician.
    • Operates the Digital Imaging System and assists in fluoroscopic procedures.
    • Conducts radiographic assessments on Level I Trauma patients to facilitate urgent care.
    • Manages portable radiographic devices in various patient care settings.
  • Determines suitable exposure parameters and positions patients using immobilization tools to ensure optimal image quality.
    • Operates portable equipment effectively in diverse clinical environments.
    • Confirms patient identity and procedure details before commencing examinations.
    • Prepares patients for imaging procedures, ensuring their comfort and understanding.
  • Maintains adherence to departmental standards for radiographic excellence.
    • Reviews images for quality assurance and reports any equipment issues.
    • Performs necessary functions within RIS/HIS systems.
    • Labels all images according to established protocols.
  • Exhibits professionalism and positive collaboration with colleagues, patients, and families.
    • Engages in self-assessment for professional development and attends relevant training sessions.
    • Maintains current CPR certification and state licensure.
  • Ensures the availability of necessary supplies for high-quality patient care.
    • Maintains cleanliness of equipment and workspaces.
    • Monitors inventory levels and restocks supplies as needed.
  • Promotes a safe environment tailored to the needs of patients across all age groups.
    • Follows procedural standards for the care of both children and adults.
    • Assists in the positioning and comfort of patients during procedures.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program with relevant experience.
  • Possession of IEMA accreditation in medical radiation technology.
  • Eligibility for American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registration.
  • Basic computer skills and understanding of R.I.S.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • Capability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance.
  • May encounter exposure to radiation and hazardous materials.
