About the Job Position

The primary purpose of this job position is to maintain the grounds, facility, and equipment in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations, as well as our established policies and procedures.

Delegation of Authority

As a Maintenance Assistant, you will be delegated the administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability necessary to carry out your assigned duties.

Education and Experience
  • Must possess a 10th grade education
  • No prior experience required; on-the-job training provided
Job Functions
  • Administrative Functions
  • Ensure maintenance schedules are followed
  • Report accidents and incidents to your supervisor
  • Coordinate daily maintenance services with nursing services
  • Other related duties as necessary or directed by your supervisor, department director, and/or administrator
Specific Requirements
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
  • Must possess the ability to make independent decisions and follow instructions
  • Must be able to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies, and the general public
  • Must maintain the care and use of supplies, equipment, and maintain the appearance of maintenance work areas
  • Must be willing to work harmoniously with other personnel and handle residents based on their maturity level
  • Must have the ability to minimize waste of supplies and misuse of equipment
  • Must possess the ability to seek out new methods and principles and incorporate them into existing maintenance practices
  • Must be able to follow written and oral instructions
  • Must be able to relate information concerning a resident's condition
  • Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace
  • Minimum of 2 years of maintenance, construction, remodel, or facilities experience required
