Position Overview:

Under the general supervision of the department chair, the Adjunct Instructor will be responsible for delivering undergraduate and/or graduate courses. Responsibilities include:

  • Preparing and conducting classes in various formats (face-to-face, hybrid, and online).
  • Staying current in the relevant content area.
  • Assessing student performance and maintaining accurate records.
  • Holding regular office hours for student advisement.
  • Engaging in curriculum development and evaluation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver course materials, including syllabi and assignments, ensuring compliance with academic standards.
  • Evaluate and grade student work based on established criteria.
  • Maintain student attendance and grading records, submitting them as required.
  • Facilitate classroom discussions and promote an interactive learning environment.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Advanced degree (MA, MS, JD, PhD) in Political Science, Public Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience in college-level teaching.

Preferred:

  • Teaching experience specifically in Political Science or Public Administration.
  • Professional experience related to the field.
  • Ability to mentor students in their academic and career aspirations.
