Nursing Assistant Job Description

As a Nursing Assistant at Bethesda Health, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and support to our residents. Your primary responsibility will be to provide patient care-related support, including services related to hygiene, nutrition, ambulation, elimination, and safety, as directed by the Charge Nurse and in accordance with established departmental guidelines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provides patient care support, including services related to hygiene, nutrition, ambulation, elimination, and safety
  • Documents patient information and vital signs accurately and timely
  • Completes personal belonging sheets, obtains and records height, weight, and vital signs, and orients new residents to the facility and unit
  • Responds to resident needs promptly and accurately
  • Ensures that proper slings, splints, braces, positions devices, specialty care items, and other equipment are applied according to physician or therapy orders
  • Maintains accurate intake and output records and relays information to the Charge Nurse at shift change


Requirements

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate individual with a passion for delivering exceptional patient care. To be successful in this role, you will need to meet the following requirements:

  • High school diploma preferred, but not required
  • Active Certified Nurse Assistant certification in the state where you will be working
  • CPR certification required, or willing to obtain within six months of employment
  • Long-term care experience preferred
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
  • Ability to lift heavy objects using proper lifting techniques and with assistance when necessary
