We're seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant to join our team at Bethesda Health. As a key member of our care team, you'll play a vital role in providing exceptional patient support and care.

About the Role:

Provides patient care-related support, including services related to hygiene, nutrition, ambulation, elimination, and safety, as directed by the Charge Nurse and per established departmental guidelines. Documents patient information accurately and follows established standards and guidelines.

Responsibilities:
  • Accurately complete personal belonging sheets, obtain and record height, weight, and vital signs, and orient new residents to the facility and unit
  • Ensure residents receive an armband and provide them with a labeled admission kit
  • Answer call lights promptly and respond to all resident needs
  • Complete rounds as assigned and throughout the course of duty
  • Turn and reposition residents every 2 hours and reposition seated residents every hour
  • Take vital signs and weights accurately and report to the Charge Nurse promptly and accurately
  • Apply proper slings, splints, braces, and positioning devices according to physician or therapy orders
  • Measure intake and output on the I & O sheets and relay information to the Charge Nurse at shift change
  • Perform procedures and treatments as instructed by the Charge Nurse
  • Maintain appropriate supplies and equipment on the unit and alert the Charge Nurse or purchasing clerk of additional needs

Requirements:
  • High school diploma preferred, but not required
  • Active Certified Nurse Assistant certification in the state you will be working
  • CPR certification required, or willing to obtain within six months of employment
  • Long-term care experience preferred
  • Excellent communication skills to interact verbally with patients, visitors, and staff
  • Ability to manage time and organize daily schedule to meet productivity standards
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
  • Ability to lift heavy objects using proper lifting techniques and with assistance when necessary
