The Onsite EAP Counselor is a key role at Optum, responsible for providing expert services to our customers. This position requires a professional with a Master's or Doctoral degree in a recognized behavioral health discipline, along with current licensure and 3+ years of experience in a behavioral health setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct solution-focused consultations to help clients define goals, plan action, and gain insight.
  • Assess and refer clients to appropriate programs and services, including work-life, behavioral health, substance abuse, and community-based resources.
  • Provide limited aftercare monitoring and manager consultation services on work-related issues.
  • Participate in training services, crisis intervention, and management support.
  • Utilize UHG computer systems to document member contact and case management.

Required Qualifications:

  • Masters / Doctoral degree in a recognized behavioral health discipline.
  • Current, unrestricted license at the independent practice level.
  • 3+ years of experience in a behavioral health setting.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Training in EAP, workplace, and organizational dynamics.
  • CEAP certification.
  • Experience in managed care, private or public clinics, with emphasis on mental health, chemical dependency, and workplace issues.
