Job Responsibilities

The Yard Associate will assist customers in locating and loading their purchased building materials. Responsibilities include:

  • Providing courteous and efficient service while loading materials for customers
  • Maintaining a thorough understanding of product codes
  • Ensuring the yard is clean, safe, and welcoming
  • Verifying paperwork for accuracy
  • Adhering to all safety protocols and procedures
  • Exhibiting behavior aligned with Dunn Lumber's core values
  • Performing additional tasks as assigned

Physical Requirements: Candidates must be capable of lifting materials weighing 60 lbs or more, transporting them short distances, and loading them into vehicles. Proficiency in typing and general computer operations is essential, along with a positive and collaborative attitude.

Training and Environment

This entry-level role includes a paid two-week training period, focusing on product knowledge, point-of-sale software, and yard operations. The position is primarily active, requiring employees to be on their feet for most of the shift, in a yard/retail setting with moderate to loud noise levels.
