Job Title: Equipment Engineer I

At LG Energy Solution Michigan, Inc., we are seeking a highly skilled Equipment Engineer I to join our team. As an Equipment Engineer I, you will play a critical role in supporting the breakdown of equipment, improving equipment for program and design to increase overall efficiency and productivity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) for frequency of breakdown and up time for daily production, reporting on OEE metrics including micro stops, breakdowns, and yield.
  • Support the completion of production work orders for technology-based improvements, such as PLC program-based redesigns and monitoring equipment running post-improvement.
  • Install new technology to production lines, including the installation of lasers.
  • Complete daily documentation and audits as required by the position.
  • Follow established work instructions and adhere to safety requirements at all times, including the use of proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Participate in and successfully complete any and all training requirements.
  • Regular and reliable on-site attendance is required.
  • Maintain cleanliness at the work-site in accordance with 5S3R Standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related field or equivalent, relevant experience.

Experience:

  • 1 to 3+ years of experience with installation, modification, analysis, repair, and testing of tools, machines, and other equipment.
  • Analysis of equipment breakdown data.

Skills:

  • Comfortable working independently and with others.
  • Results-oriented and perseverant.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Project and process management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Technically proficient and motivated to continuously improve.
  • Equipment designing programs 2D/3D.
  • MS Office Suite.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to properly and regularly utilize the following PPE for a period of up to 12 hours: safety glasses, steel-toed shoes.
  • Must be able to do the following repeatedly for a period of up to 12 hours: lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds, stoop, twist, bend, reach overhead, sit, and/or stand.
