Job Summary

Magna International is seeking a skilled Electrical Controls Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Mechatronics, Mirrors and Lighting group, you will be responsible for providing technical support to set-up personnel, manufacturing, and engineering in all phases of manufacturing. Your expertise in controls systems, including PLC, Vision, Robotics, and Servo, will be essential in improving OEE metrics through downtime reduction, cycle time reduction, scrap reduction, and improved efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Provide technical support to set-up personnel, manufacturing, and engineering in all phases of manufacturing.
  2. Participate in continuous improvement activities to improve OEE metrics through downtime reduction, cycle time reduction, scrap reduction, and improved efficiency.
  3. Troubleshoot, identify, implement, and maintain controls systems, including PLC, Vision, Robotics, and Servo.
  4. Conduct manufacturing process verification via manual records or through implementation of automated controls.
  5. Develop work standards for current tools, machines, and equipment in designated area and maintain accurate records.
  6. Provide training and work direction to other staff. Perform other duties as necessary.
Requirements

  1. B.S. Degree in area of Manufacturing/Electrical Engineering Technology or a minimum of 3 years' experience troubleshooting PLCs, Vision Systems, Robotics, and/or Servo Systems.
  2. Demonstrated ability to establish communication with all controls systems in area of responsibility for troubleshooting and programming purposes.
  3. Demonstrated good interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills to communicate with internal and external contacts and work in a team environment.
  4. Strong project management and problem-solving skills to work on projects independently under minimal work direction.
