Medix is seeking a highly skilled Triage Nurse Specialist to join our team. As a Clinical RN Care Coordinator, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care and ensuring seamless communication between patients, physicians, and staff.
Key Responsibilities- Assessment and Triage: Utilize critical thinking and nursing skills to assess patient problems, both in the office and on the phone, to determine disposition of patients.
- Patient Care Coordination: Facilitate patient care and document all communication into the electronic health record.
- Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service to patients and team members.
- Specimen Handling: Consistently demonstrate correct handling of procedure specimens per providers orders, including appropriate identification, labeling, dating, and disposition of the specimen.
- Communication: Communicate physician treatment plan; lab/imaging results to patients and document appropriately within the EMR.
- Confidentiality: Maintain strict patient confidentiality; adheres to all HIPAA regulations and completes required staff training.
- Work Environment: Maintains a clean and safe work area.
- Escort and Education: Escorts patients to and from the exam room for procedures. Patient education and assist physicians with Urolift and Space OARs, Aveed and Provenge, assess for allergic reaction.
- Procedure Performance: Performs independently Catheter and suprapubic catheter changes, Aveed, Provenge infusions, PTNS, Bladder Instillations, and Urodynamics.
- Instrument Cleaning: Clean and use high-level disinfection of instruments.
- Charting: Utilizes current nursing practices to provide patient care while focusing on the needs of the patient and exemplifying service excellence, care, concern, respect, and cooperation. As a member of a healthcare team, functions in the role of patient advocate by being in the position of initial contact for patient-related issues.
- Electronic Health Record: Utilize EPIC to chart patient care.
- Experience: 2-3 Years Triage RN Experience (Does not have to be Urology)
- Customer Service: Efficient in Customer Service and Patient Care (Reducing long call times)
- Licensure: WA State Nursing License
- Education: BA from an Accredited School of Nursing
- Skills: Quick Decision Making Skills, Efficient Multi-Tasking
- Software Experience: Experience with EPIC Software
- Computer Skills: Knowledgeable and proficient in computer applications (Excel/Word), with the ability to learn new software programs and expand knowledge on new computer systems.
- Stress Management: Ability to handle stressful and constantly changing conditions
- Teamwork: Team player that can work well without supervision
