Job Summary

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides high-quality patient care in a fast-paced medical surgical telemetry environment. The RN prepares equipment and assists physicians during examinations and treatments, administering prescribed medications and monitoring patient vital signs.

The RN observes and maintains accurate records on patient care, condition, reaction, and progress. As a team member or team leader, the RN participates in the planning and implementing of patient care, directing and assisting in carrying out safe aseptic technique and procedures.

In our Medical Surgical Telemetry units, we care for a variety of medical and post-op surgical patients. Our team is trained in telemetry and ACLS, and we offer opportunities for professional development and growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for patients
  • Prepare equipment and assist physicians during examinations and treatments
  • Administer prescribed medications and monitor patient vital signs
  • Maintain accurate records on patient care, condition, reaction, and progress
  • Participate in the planning and implementing of patient care
  • Direct and assist in carrying out safe aseptic technique and procedures

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • One-year experience in nursing preferred
  • Current Texas State RN License
  • CPR (American Heart Association)
  • ACLS (American Heart Association) within 6 months of hire/transfer date
  • PALS (American Heart Association) within 18 months of hire/transfer date
  • NIHSS required within 90 days of hire/transfer date
