Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Primary Counselor to join our team at Massachusetts Detox Centers. As a key member of our treatment team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to individuals struggling with addiction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Treatment Plans: Collaborate with the treatment team to create and implement individualized treatment plans that address the unique needs of each patient.
  • Provide Group and Individual Therapy: Facilitate group therapy sessions and provide individual counseling to patients, focusing on their physical, emotional, and psychological well-being.
  • Conduct Assessments and Evaluations: Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations to identify patient needs and develop effective treatment strategies.
  • Communicate Effectively: Maintain open and effective communication with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Participate in Interdisciplinary Team Meetings: Collaborate with the treatment team to discuss patient progress, address concerns, and develop strategies for improvement.
  • Document Patient Progress: Accurately and thoroughly document patient progress, including treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
Requirements
  • Master's Degree in Psychology, Social Work, or Related Field: Possess a master's degree in psychology, social work, or a related field, with a specialization in addiction counseling or a related field.
  • Licensure or Certification: Hold a valid license or certification in counseling or a related field, such as LPC, LMHC, or CAC.
  • Experience in Addiction Treatment: Possess a minimum of 1-2 years of experience in addiction treatment, with a focus on chemical dependency and psychiatric settings.
  • Knowledge of 12-Step Treatment Model: Demonstrate a working knowledge of the 12-step treatment model and its application in addiction treatment.
