We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team as a nurse specialist in an Intermediate Care Unit. This is a fantastic opportunity to utilize your expertise in caring for patients with complex medical conditions.

As a nurse specialist, you will be responsible for assessing patients' needs, developing and implementing individualized care plans, and collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

This role requires a minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar setting, with a strong focus on telemetry, PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown experience, dysrhythmia interpretation, remote monitoring, pre/post cardiac procedures, sheath removal, port access, blood product administration, central line care, PICC line management, and cardiac drip-titration (Diltiazem and Amiodarone).

The ideal candidate will have certifications in ACLS and may also hold NIH certification or charge experience.

This position offers a competitive salary range of $140,000 - $160,000 per year, based on a 36-hour workweek and 12-hour shifts, with a tax-free stipend amount to be determined. The contract duration is 13 weeks up to March 15, 2025.

You will work in a dynamic environment where patient ratios are typically 1:6-7, and shifts are night 3x12-hour. You will participate in Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team requirements and may be required to float to other units as needed during your contract.

Patient diagnoses include Congestive Heart Failure, Arrhythmias, Post Cardiac Cath, and Special Procedures. The unit uses Monitoring of cardiac patients, Cardiac drips, Sheath pulls, TR Bands, and Femstop. Electronic systems include Pyxis medication management and EPIC documentation. Communication is done via SBAR.

Additional benefits include self-scheduling, 24-hour unit orientation, and Navy scrubs. To start, you must pass EKG testing prior to the beginning of your contract and participate in an interview before finalizing the offer.
