Job Description:

Key Qualifications:

  • Doctorate in nursing or a related field
  • Current CRNA certification by NBCRNA
  • Current, unencumbered RN and APRN Licenses in Connecticut and Texas
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
  • Minimum of 1 year teaching and administrative experience preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience as a CRNA
Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will assist the Nurse Anesthesia Program Administration in ensuring compliance with COA and CCNE accreditation standards. They will also assist in developing Nurse Anesthesia didactic materials within regulatory and professional guidelines.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Developing and delivering instructional content for the education of nurse anesthesia residents during didactic, simulation, and clinical portions of assigned courses
  • Utilizing evaluation tools to assign grades for didactic course work
  • Evaluating and assessing current educational needs of the nurse anesthesia residents and participating in the revision of curriculum as needed in conjunction with Program Administration and faculty
  • Teaching at the graduate level in the Nurse Anesthesia Program
  • Participating in recruitment, selection, and enrollment of nurse anesthesia residents during the admission process
  • Promoting and implementing innovative curricular design and education strategies to support resident learning in the nurse anesthesia program
  • Collaborating with the Program Administration to monitor and assess trends in nurse anesthesia practice and education
  • Maintaining open communication with nurse anesthesia residents in the program by responding to emails within 24-48 business hours
  • Competence in the use of technology in teaching and distance learning
  • Acting as a professional role model
  • Demonstrated computer skills using web-based applications and Microsoft Office Suite

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Teaching within the Nurse Anesthesia Program courses
  • Advising nurse anesthesia residents in the completion of the DNP Project
  • Participating in annual clinical site visits in accordance with COA policies
  • Maintaining competency within anesthesia practice area
