CIS Instructor

Solano Community College is seeking a qualified Adjunct CIS Instructor to teach part-time courses in Computer Information Sciences and Computer Applications. The successful candidate will be able to teach classes at the main Fairfield campus, the centers in Vacaville and Vallejo, and possibly online.

• Provide instruction in accordance with established program course outlines of record.
• Develop, review, and maintain currency of curriculum for courses the individual teaches.
• Work in collaboration with other instructors to coordinate curriculum and mentor adjunct faculty.
• Participate in program review, curriculum development, and evaluation.
• Actively participate in department meetings and maintain regular office hours.
• Use technology to enhance student learning.
• Participate in college-wide committee work and collegial governance.

• A Master's degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering and a Master's degree in mathematics, cybernetics, business administration, accounting, or engineering.
• A Bachelor's degree in engineering and a Master's degree in cybernetics, engineering mathematics, or business administration.
• A Bachelor's degree in mathematics and a Master's degree in cybernetics, engineering mathematics, or business administration.

• Knowledge of teaching and multiple teaching methods.
• Ability to utilize multiple teaching methods/strategies needed to address the diverse learning styles/needs of students.
• Commitment to teaching and learning, and providing a supportive learning environment.
• Demonstrated sensitivity to teaching students from diverse cultural, ethnic, and socio-economic backgrounds.
