Job Overview:
The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure the cleanliness and upkeep of all facilities and grounds, fostering a conducive environment for educational activities.

Immediate Supervisor:
Assistant Head and/or Head Custodian

Key Responsibilities:
1. Cleaning and Maintenance:
- Perform floor care tasks including vacuuming, buffing, and carpet maintenance.
- Maintain cleanliness in restrooms and manage waste disposal.
- Keep custodial supplies organized and submit maintenance requests promptly.

2. Security Duties:
- Secure and open facilities as required.
- Monitor premises for any inappropriate activities and report them.

3. Grounds Care:
- Efficiently manage outdoor maintenance tasks such as mowing and litter collection.
- Address snow and ice removal as necessary.

4. Equipment Management:
- Utilize and maintain custodial equipment responsibly.
- Report any maintenance needs in a timely manner.

5. Energy Conservation:
- Support the Energy Management program by adhering to scheduled shut downs and conservation practices.

Work Environment:
This position involves working indoors within school facilities and outdoors in various weather conditions. Regular interaction with students, staff, and the community is expected.

Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Effective communication skills in both oral and written forms.
- Ability to read and understand procedures and regulations.
- Prior experience in custodial work is preferred.

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand or walk for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and work at heights.

General Expectations:
- Demonstrate integrity, professionalism, and a positive attitude.
- Work collaboratively with others and maintain a safe environment.
- Complete tasks efficiently and effectively with minimal supervision.
