Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate a delivery vehicle to transport goods to designated locations, adhering to established routes and schedules.
  • Conduct daily vehicle inspections to ensure safe and efficient operation.
  • Maintain accurate records, including Department of Transportation logbooks and driver vehicle inspection reports.
  • Report to work in compliance with company uniform standards and adhere to all safety regulations.
  • Plan trip logistics, obtain necessary documents, and ensure cargo is properly secured and handled.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, colleagues, and management regarding delivery schedules, delays, and changes.
  • Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations, maintaining a safe and courteous driving record.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the vehicle and its cargo.
  • Work flexible hours, including early morning, evening, and weekend shifts, with occasional overtime required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management, including participating in the development of a safe and healthy work environment.
Requirements:

  • Excellent accuracy and attention to detail in processing large numbers of deliveries.
  • Strong communication skills, including written, verbal, and persuasion abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal, customer service, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of GPS navigation technology and familiarity with the delivery area and alternate routes.
Education and Experience:

Minimum:
  • High school diploma or equivalent and 2-5 years of driving experience in a distribution environment.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable motor vehicle record.
  • Experience with route delivery and driving.
