Position Overview:

As an integral part of the Denver Public Schools team, the Automotive Maintenance Specialist is responsible for the upkeep, repair, and inspection of our fleet of vehicles. This role ensures that all vehicles meet safety and operational standards, contributing to the overall efficiency of our transportation services.

Key Responsibilities:

- Conduct thorough inspections and maintenance on district vehicles, ensuring compliance with state regulations.
- Perform diagnostics and troubleshoot issues to determine necessary repairs, focusing on safety and performance.
- Document all maintenance activities accurately using the designated software, maintaining high standards of record-keeping.
- Collaborate with fellow technicians and supervisors to enhance service delivery and operational efficiency.
- Execute pre-trip inspections to guarantee vehicle safety and readiness for use.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety protocols and best practices.

Qualifications:

- High School Diploma or equivalent; technical training in automotive mechanics is preferred.
- Minimum of two years of experience in vehicle maintenance, with a strong preference for candidates with ASE certification.
- Valid Colorado Driver's License with appropriate endorsements.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment, demonstrating strong communication skills and attention to detail.
