Position Overview: The Oncology Nurse Care Coordinator is a vital role within our multidisciplinary team, responsible for delivering personalized support to patients navigating the complexities of cancer care. This position requires a professional registered nurse with specialized oncology knowledge, dedicated to assisting patients, families, and caregivers in overcoming healthcare system challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive assessments and education to patients and their families throughout the cancer care continuum.
  • Facilitate effective communication among the healthcare team, ensuring timely access to quality care.
  • Assist in coordinating care transitions from prevention and screening to treatment and survivorship.
  • Advocate for adherence to evidence-based clinical practices and participate in the analysis of patient outcomes.
  • Manage chemotherapy schedules and coordinate outside treatments as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
  • Certification: Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) or Bone Marrow Transplant Certified Nurse (BMTCN) preferred.
  • Experience: A minimum of four years in an oncology setting is required.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficient in basic computer skills and electronic health record systems.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

Licenses:

  • Current unencumbered RN license.
  • Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
