Job Summary

Orlando Health is seeking a skilled Mammography Technologist to join our team in Ambulatory Imaging. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and performing mammography imaging services with precision and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities
  • Exercise professional judgment in the performance of services and maintain a demeanor that supports quality care.
  • Comply with FDA and MQSA regulatory requirements, adhering to Orlando Health's mission statements and strategic imperatives.
  • Assess patients' physical condition and age-specific needs, providing instructions that achieve patient cooperation and desired results.
  • Perform proper patient identification, acquire patients' clinical history, and ensure accurate documentation.
  • Position patients, equipment, and associated devices, manipulating technical factors to achieve desired high-quality images for interpretation.
  • Assess diagnostic images for technical quality, proper annotation, patient identification, and ensure that all breast anatomy is demonstrated according to MQSA/ACR guidelines.
  • Apply principles of radiation safety to minimize exposure to patients, self, and others.
  • Utilize Radiology Information System to accurately show arrival and completion of exams, correct coding of procedures done, and retrieval of reports.
  • Administer medical aid as required for any emergency, utilizing sterile technique for sterile procedures in accordance with OH policy and training.
  • Comprehend and comply with Quality Control standards, participating in all Quality Control tasks.
  • Apply appropriate standard precautions and personal protective equipment to prevent cross-contamination of contagious diseases.
  • Utilize all Corporate Radiology computer systems effectively and accurately.
  • Ensure the safety of all customers.
  • Maintain reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.
  • Maintain compliance with all Orlando Health policies, department guidelines, and education requirements.
Qualifications
  • Education/Training: Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
  • Licensure/Certification: Valid Florida state license and valid Radiology registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification.
  • BLS/Healthcare Provider certification required.
