Specialty Sales Team Leader Role Overview



As a Specialty Sales Team Leader at Target, you will play a key role in driving sales growth and delivering exceptional guest experiences in our Specialty Sales departments, including Apparel and Accessories, Home, Baby, Beauty, and Electronics. This role requires a strong leader who can motivate and develop a team of consultants to achieve sales goals and provide personalized service to our guests.



Main Responsibilities




  2. Lead and Develop a Team of Consultants
  3. Drive Sales Growth and Achieve Sales Goals
  4. Provide Exceptional Guest Service and Experiences
  5. Manage Daily Operations and Ensure a Well-Organized Selling Environment
  6. Maintain a High Level of Product Knowledge and Stay Up-to-Date on Brand Trends and Promotions
  7. Partner with Third-Party Vendors to Ensure Brand Standards and Merchandising are Met
  8. Support the Execution of Revisions, Sales Plans, Planograms, and Visual Merchandising Guidelines
  9. Encourage Guests to Shop with Confidence by Creating Inspiring Visual Moments and Ensuring Product is Organized and Signed Correctly
  10. Support the ETL in Leading Assigned Business Units Backroom Process, Organization, Layout, and Replenishment of the Sales Floor
  11. Evaluate Candidates for Open Positions and Develop a Guest-Centric Team
  12. Support Team Onboarding, Learning, and Help Close Product Knowledge and Skill Gaps through Development, Coaching, and Team Interactions
  13. Ensure Fitting Rooms are Welcoming, Clean, and Safe
  14. Support the ETL in Establishing Clear Goals and Expectations and Hold Team Members Accountable to Expectations
  15. Provide Service and a Shopping Experience that Meets the Needs of Guests in All Areas, Including Clearance
  16. Demonstrate a Culture of Ethical Conduct, Safety, and Compliance and Lead and Hold the Team Accountable to Work in the Same Way
  17. Model a Safety Advocacy Culture by Understanding How Safety Impacts Your Role and That of Your Team, Identifying and Correcting Hazards, and Holding Team Accountable to Working in a Safe Manner
  18. Address Store Needs, such as Emergency, Regulatory Visits, and Other Situations
  19. Support Guest Services, such as Back-Up Cashier, Order Pick-Up (OPU), and Drive-Up (DU), and Maintain a Compliance Culture while Executing Those Duties
  20. All Other Duties Based on Business Needs


Requirements




  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Must be at least 18 years of age or older
  • Previous Retail Experience Preferred, but Not Required
  • Lead and Hold Others Accountable
  • Ability to Communicate on Multiple Frequency Devices and Operate Handheld Scanners and Other Technology Equipment as Directed
  • Work Independently and as Part of a Team
  • Manage Workload and Prioritize Tasks Independently
  • Welcoming and Helpful Attitude
  • Effective Communication Skills
  • Capability to Remain Focused and Composed in a Fast-Paced Environment and Accomplish Multiple Tasks within Established Timeframes
  • Access All Areas of the Building to Respond to Guest or Team Member Issues
  • Interpret Instructions, Reports, and Information
  • Accurately Handle Cash Register Operations as Needed
  • Climb Up and Down Ladders as Needed
  • Scan, Handle, and Move Merchandise Efficiently and Safely, Including Frequently Lifting or Moving Merchandise up to 15 Pounds and Occasionally Lifting or Moving Merchandise up to 44 Pounds without Additional Assistance from Others
  • Flexible Work Schedule (e.g., Nights, Weekends, and Holidays) and Reliable and Prompt Attendance Necessary
  • Capable of Working in and Exposure to Varying Temperatures, Humidity, and Other Elements while Performing Certain Job Duties, Including but Not Limited to Drive-Up, Carry-Out, etc. as Needed
  • Ability to Remain Mobile for the Duration of a Scheduled Shift (Shift Length may Vary)
