Job DescriptionWe are seeking an inspirational and mission-aligned Founding High School Teacher to join our founding staff. As a key member of our team, you will ensure high academic standards, fuel inquiry in our students, and cultivate their passions. You will develop culturally-relevant and inquiry-based curriculum, plan interactive lessons, and assess student growth through data-driven practices.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement culturally-relevant and inquiry-based curriculum
- Plan interactive lessons that promote student voice and demonstration of learning
- Assess and accelerate student growth through data-driven practices
- Create an inclusive environment that fosters self-advocacy
- Support college and career exploration and planning, including service learning initiatives
- Collaborate with teams to align instruction to student needs
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- Valid New York State Certification
- Proven track record of planning lessons with clear learning objectives
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Demonstrated content knowledge and experience with New York State Next Generation State Standards
Compensation and Benefits:
We offer a competitive salary range of $68,675 - $121,230, individualized based on experience and education level. Our benefits package includes a 401(k) with a 6% organizational match, longevity bonus, generous paid time off, and access to a federal student loan debt reduction program.
