We are seeking a highly skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team at Sysco. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and reliable operation of our fleet of vehicles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preventive Maintenance: Perform regular inspections and maintenance on vehicles and equipment to prevent breakdowns and ensure optimal performance.
  • Repair and Diagnosis: Diagnose and repair complex issues with vehicles and equipment, including electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Quality Control: Ensure all work is performed to the highest standards of quality and safety.
  • Communication: Effectively communicate with drivers, management, and other team members to ensure seamless operations.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and techniques in the field of diesel mechanics.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or certification in diesel mechanics preferred.
  • Experience: 3 years of experience in fleet maintenance and repair, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Certifications: ASE certifications in automotive or medium/heavy duty trucks, or equivalent certifications.
  • Skills: Expert knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, and other vehicle systems; moderate knowledge of electrical systems; basic knowledge of welding and cutting.
Working Conditions

This is a non-traditional business hours position, requiring flexibility and adaptability. The associate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent exposure to changing weather conditions and varying temperatures.

The associate will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow all safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.

The associate will be required to travel to other locations as needed, and may be required to work in confined spaces.
