About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team at Sysco. As a key member of our fleet maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and reliable operation of our vehicles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, and other vehicle systems.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles to identify potential issues and prevent breakdowns.
  • Diagnose and repair complex problems with diesel engines, transmissions, and other vehicle systems.
  • Work with our team to develop and implement maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and maximize fleet reliability.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and techniques in diesel engine repair and maintenance.
Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience in diesel engine repair and maintenance.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to operate a company vehicle.
  • ASE certifications in diesel engine repair and maintenance (preferred).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Annual Inspector Certification.
  • Brake Inspector Certification.
  • Working knowledge of computer-based diagnostic software for OEMs and component manufacturers.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
Working Conditions

This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively. The successful candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team to achieve goals and objectives.

The physical demands of this role include standing, walking, and lifting up to 100 pounds. The work environment is typically a shop or garage setting with exposure to loud noises, fumes, and other hazards.
