Physician - Psychiatrist

The VETERANS HEALTH ADMINISTRATION is seeking a highly skilled Physician - Psychiatrist to join our team. As a Physician - Psychiatrist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, conducting assessments, and developing treatment plans to address the complex mental health needs of our patients.

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments and develop treatment plans for patients with a range of mental health conditions.
• Provide individual and group psychotherapy services to patients, including cognitive-behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, and other evidence-based treatments.
• Prescribe and manage medications to treat mental health conditions, including antidepressants, antipsychotics, and mood stabilizers.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including psychologists, social workers, and nurses, to provide comprehensive care to patients.
• Participate in multidisciplinary treatment teams to develop and implement treatment plans for patients.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest research and best practices in psychiatric care, including evidence-based treatments and emerging trends in mental health.

• Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) degree from an accredited medical school.
• Completion of a psychiatric residency program accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME).
• Board certification in psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN).
• Current licensure to practice medicine in the state where the position is located.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.

• Experience working in a psychiatric setting, including inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Experience working with patients with a range of mental health conditions, including mood disorders, anxiety disorders, and psychotic disorders.
• Experience with evidence-based treatments, including cognitive-behavioral therapy and psychodynamic therapy.
• Experience with medication management, including prescribing and managing medications to treat mental health conditions.
