Job Overview

We are seeking an EDI Onboarding Associate - Automation Specialist to join our team in Omaha, NE; Atlanta, GA; Dover, NH; Charlotte, NC; Boston, MA or Phoenix, AZ offices. As a key member of our Group Protection Operations Team, you will play a vital role in delivering on EDI onboarding and implementation assignments & projects. Your expertise in EDI processing and automation will enable you to provide guidance on compatibility of proposed onboarding approaches with EDI processes, ensuring seamless integration for our customers.

Responsibilities:

  1. Monitor EDI requests and ensure timely responses, gathering necessary information, addressing questions, and providing appropriate layouts/file formats for EDI processing.
  2. Act as a liaison between Account Management, internal EDI resources, and third-party partners to ensure all stakeholders understand optimal policy setup, per EDI guidelines, facilitating efficient automation and onboarding.
  3. Participate in pre- and post-sales calls with brokers and customers, outlining pros & cons of onboarding approaches in terms of compatibility with automated EDI processing, and proactively advising on potential changes that can enable automation.
  4. Implement standard inbound file feeds for both new customers and ongoing maintenance requests, including demographic/eligibility files.
  5. C coordinate with internal EDI resources and third-party partners to validate appropriate file configuration and ensure successful initial & on-going transmission and processing of files.
  6. Provide ongoing File Support to installed customers, including technical troubleshooting for Level 2 File Support requests.
  7. Act as a testing resource for general strategic initiatives.
  8. Work with third-party benefit administration partners to expedite resolution of any escalated file issues, collaborating with partners to research root causes and recommend improvements to processes/file formats to avoid future issues.
  9. Identify, recommend, and champion process improvements and organizational initiatives to positively influence the team and quality while supporting and promoting change management and departmental/enterprise initiatives within assigned areas of responsibility.

Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of a degree)
  • 1+ year of experience in EDI processing and automation directly aligned to the specific responsibilities for this role OR 1+ year of experience in Group Protection in customer-facing roles directly aligned to the specific responsibilities for this role
  • Ability to communicate effectively (verbal/written)
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated strong customer service experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Apply concepts such as probability, statistics, modeling, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical solutions and work with concepts such as averages and/or variances
