Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Ultrasound Technologist to join our team at Advocate Aurora Health in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin. As a Diagnostic Imaging Specialist, you will be responsible for operating ultrasound equipment to perform general, vascular, and cardiac procedures/studies, accurately differentiating between normal and pathologic findings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Competently operate ultrasound equipment to perform procedures/studies, ensuring accurate and high-quality images.
  • Review patient medical records to obtain necessary clinical information, including patient history, lab results, and physician orders.
  • Position patients and select proper transducers and technical factors for accurate ultrasound procedures.
  • Use cognitive sonographic skills to identify, record, and adapt procedures as appropriate to anatomical, pathological, diagnostic information, and images.
  • Maintain accurate records in accordance with regulatory agencies and enter patient and study information into the radiology information system.
Requirements
  • Medical Sonographer (RDMS) registration with Abdomen issued by the American Registry of Diagnostic Med Sonography (ARDMS) within 3 months.
  • Medical Sonographer (RDMS) registration with OB/GYN issued by the American Registry of Diagnostic Med Sonography (ARDMS) within 3 months.
  • Vascular Technologist (RVT) registration issued by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) within 3 months.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) within 6 months.
Education and Experience
  • Advanced training beyond High School that includes the completion of an accredited or approved program in Sonography.
  • No experience required.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
  • Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, and twist throughout the workday.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to waist, lift up to 20 lbs. over the head, and carry up to 40 lbs. a reasonable distance.
