Overview:

Pavilion-6, an Intermediate surgical and medical surgical unit with 30 single rooms, is deeply committed to providing exceptional patient care. Our surgical services include surgical oncology, urology, bariatrics, and thoracic and colorectal surgery.

Our leadership structure, comprised of a clinical director, an assistant clinical director, clinical nurse managers, and a clinical educator, is dedicated to supporting our staff and patient safety. Pavilion-6 is supported by our unit secretaries, critical care technicians, and registered nurses seven days a week.

We strive to have all of our nurses cross-trained in surgical intermediate care within the first year at Cooper. Pavilion-6 fosters a close relationship with our providers, as our APNs and Surgical Residents are easily accessible for support, questions, and directions with patient care.

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse - Med Surg Intermediate Care Specialist is a professional caregiver who, as a member of a multidisciplinary healthcare team, assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients for a designated time frame. The nurse supervises and provides care to these patients utilizing the nursing process, including the therapeutic use of self.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Follows established policies and procedures.
  • Communicates openly with internal customers and supervisors.
  • Provides excellent customer service, interfacing well with all levels of staff, management, and physicians.
  • Applies Cooper core values.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of NLN-accredited School of Nursing.
  • Current NJ-RN License (Registered Nurse).
  • Current American Heart Association BLS Certification (Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers).
  • Certain specialties may require advanced certification (i.e., ACLS, NALS, PALS).
