Camden New Jersey, United States Cooper University Hospital Full time

About Us:

At Cooper University Health Care, our commitment to delivering exceptional healthcare begins with our team. Our dedicated professionals are continually discovering innovative clinical practices and providing access to the latest facilities, equipment, technologies, and research protocols. We offer competitive compensation, a comprehensive benefits package, attractive working conditions, and opportunities for professional growth and development.

Overview:

Cooper University's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit is a 35-bed level 3 nursery, comprising smaller pods that accommodate up to 4 infants, except for the Transitional nursery, which can hold up to 12 infants. These infants often require preparation for discharge. We care for infants as young as 23 weeks gestation, as well as those requiring surgical interventions, respiratory support from nasal cannula to high frequency ventilation and nitric oxide. Our NICU has a Neonatal transport team that retrieves infants requiring higher care from various hospitals in the South Jersey area. Our team consists of all Registered RNs, attending physicians, fellows, Neonatal Nurse Practitioners, and Residents. We also have a robust ancillary team, including dedicated Respiratory Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, and Speech Therapists, addressing individual feeding issues. Additionally, we have Unit secretaries and Child Life Specialists.

Job Summary:

The Registered RN is a professional caregiver who, as a member of a multidisciplinary healthcare team, assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients for a designated time frame. The RN supervises and provides care to these patients using the nursing process, including the therapeutic use of self. The RN follows established policies and procedures, communicates openly with internal customers and supervisors, and provides excellent customer service, interfacing well with all levels of staff, management, and physicians. The RN applies Cooper core values and performs other duties as required.

Requirements:

  • 2 years minimum of pediatric acute care RN experience
  • Graduate of NLN accredited School of Nursing
  • Current NJ-RN License (Registered Nurse); Current American Heart Association BLS Certification (Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers); certain specialties may require advanced certification (i.e. ACLS, NALS, PALS)
