Job Title: Medical Assistant - Women's Health

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our team at St. Charles Health System. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare team.

Job Summary:

The Medical Assistant will be responsible for daily patient flow, triage, and preparation for physician assessments. You will work closely with physicians and non-clinical staff to ensure comprehensive and compassionate healthcare for our community.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Escort patients to exam rooms and prepare for physician assessments
  • Record and maintain patient medical data in patient charts
  • Assist physicians with phone requests from patients and other medical professionals
  • Perform various physician-requested ancillary and surgical patient procedures
  • Maintain equipment, instruments, and supply inventory levels
  • Support Lean principles and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Provide a safe environment for caregivers, patients, and guests
  • Conduct all activities with the highest standards of professionalism and confidentiality
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Current MA Certification from a recognized organization (e.g., AMT, NCCT, AAMA)
  • AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider certification
  • Ability to travel to business functions, trainings, and meetings
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Two years of Medical Assisting experience
  • Current American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) certification
Work Environment:

This position requires standing, walking, and keyboard operation for extended periods. You must be able to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and maintain a safe environment for caregivers, patients, and guests.
