Job Title: Mechanical Project Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Project Engineer to join our team at Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson. As a Mechanical Project Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing mechanical systems for various projects, including facilities engineering and design projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform engineering calculations and assessments to determine best practice mechanical design solutions for specific applications
  • Conduct field investigations, HVAC load studies, energy modeling, and code reviews
  • Produce mechanical design documents (drawings and specifications) for bidding and construction
  • Oversee the design and drafting tasks of junior engineering staff, and perform quality control review of design documents
  • Coordinate project designs with client specifications and local, city, state code requirements, including interaction with code officials and permitting offices
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering from an ABET Accredited University program
  • Valid Driver's License
  • 6 Years, or more, of professional experience
  • Previous experience designing and specifying HVAC and plumbing systems of various sizes and complexities
  • Project management experience for small to medium sized projects a plus, but not required
Working Conditions:

Work is predominantly performed within a general office environment. Work is generally sedentary in nature but may require occasional standing and walking. Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment. Hybrid-remote work will be considered.
